Terms and Conditions
Important
All guests will be required to read and understand our terms & conditions before commencing any tour.

It may not sound like fun but it only takes 2 minutes to read it and there's nothing scary in there...

...Well, apart from the bit about the Wild New Zealand Saw-Toothed Hunting Mouse (that's an example of the dreadful humour you'll encounter on one of our tours).

You'll be given a copy to read & sign before starting the tour. It's handy if you suffer from insomnia or like making paper planes.
Payment: Can be made by Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Cheque, or Paypal. Full payment is required 28 days prior to tour in pre-booking situations.

Cancellations:
30 or more days notice:                         Full refund
8 to 29 days notice:                               50% refund
8 days or less:                          No refund available

We reserve the right to change the tour activities due to weather conditions or activity provider availability at short or no notice. Depending on the weather related cancellation circumstances, refunds of individual tour items is possible and will be attempted. Refunds may also be possible if a supplier to Taranaki Adventure Tours cancels a booked item for our guests which is beyond our control. We will always try to be flexible enough to keep all parties happy with the outcome of the day if cancellations are inevitable.
If guests are booking very close to the day of the tour we cannot guarantee all activities will be available. If a paid activity isn't available due to a short lead time, we'll refund that part of your tour.

Tours:  The tours we offer are one and two days long, touring around Taranaki. Tours can be arranged for single guests if required, just send us an email.
All prices are charged in New Zealand Dollars
All prices include Goods and Services Tax charged in New Zealand of 12.5%
Prices are subjected to any necessary changes due to accommodation costs, GST, or a change in operating costs which are beyond our control.

Clothing Requirements:
The Taranaki region has frequently changing weather. We recommend guests pack warm clothing, even in summer. A weatherproof jacket or thick polar fleece is recommended, as are sturdy shoes for the short walks involved in our tours. If your tour involves kayaking, a full change of clothes is recommended in case of saturation.

Supplied Meals:
Taranaki Adventure Tours supplies all food and drink on all tours within reason for an average adult's requirements.
We are aware of certain guests diet requirements and will accomodate most guests with diabetes/gluten intolerance/kosher requirements as long as we are advised of this when booking. We are a very flexible tour agent and can take meal requests.

Level of Fitness:
All items in our tour itinerary are optional. Our one-day tour includes an optional 10 minute hike when walking to Dawson's Falls and an optional 30 minute hike along the Stony River. Both are considered light duty but the terrain is hilly and you are welcome to remain in the tour vehicle with a guide if you do not wish to partake.
Our two day tours include many different activities and are to partake in all activities you will need a reasonable level of physical fitness. Once again there is no pressure to partake on any activity and we ask all guests to please inform us if a particular activity appears too strenious or if guests require a rest break.

Tour Times:
On all tours we collect guests outside Vetro Mediterranean Foods, 49 Egmont Street, New Plymouth at 8:30am. We will endeavour to return guests to the same location by 5:00pm but as each guest has different requirements and as we don't wish to rush guests, this time cannot be relied upon. This is even moreso in the two-day tours. We can cut tours short on request but in most cases refunds cannot be offered due to booked staff, food and activities.

Booking conditions:
We endeavour to take extra care on our tours to minimize the potential danger or a hazard to our guests; however we insist all guests have travel insurance when touring with us.
All clients under the age of 18 have to be accompanied by an adult at all times and follow instructions given by the tour guide at all times.

Liability:
Neither Zazi New Zealand Ltd trading as Taranaki Adventure Tours nor the booking agents (if applicable) can accept responsibility to any damage done to guest’s property by the guest or tour party, or any injury sustained by a guest attending any of the tours provided. We ask guests to take care on steps, walkways and beaches and to be aware of muddy and slippery conditions. At all times we have basic first aid facilities and staff trained in CPR and first aid onboard our minibus, but we ask guests to be very careful and not to over-excert themselves beyond their known abilities.

New Zealand law is such that it is very unlikely that you will be able to sue anyone if you get injured or harmed in any way. Also, New Zealand’s accidental compensation scheme offers only limited assistance to visitors in New Zealand, therefore we insist all guests undertaking our tours have travel insurance that provides cover for any injuries suffered while in New Zealand.

Zazi New Zealand Ltd reserves the right to changes these conditions at any time. Please ensure you have read an up to date copy before commencing your tour. We will require signed acceptance to these terms and conditions before commencing your tour.
